Kingaroy is the ideal base from which to explore the vineyards, cellar doors and farm shops of the South Burnett wine region.
With a low-humidity climate similar to the acclaimed Hunter Valley, Kingaroy and wider region is ideal suited for grape cultivation. The first vines were planted in 1995 and now you can visit and taste wine at four cellar doors nearby (plus another five in the Moffatdale region, near Murgon).
You can taste and learn about a variety of wines direct from the wine makers at wineries ranging from some of the State’s largest to small boutique vineyards.
There’s a growing gourmet food scene with chefs featuring local produce on menus at many of the award winning restaurants and cafés around town, including our very own restaurant at Ascot Lodge Motor Inn.
